But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings….. (Malachi 4:2)
The Right Coach
I know that when we get to heaven the Son of the Most High God will continuously shine His light and that there is not even a speck of darkness there. That is of course for those of us planning to go to heaven…..the coach we need to catch is called JESUS and we need to book a place ASAP if we haven’t done so already. It’s not as if spaces are limited, no nothing like that, it’s time that is limited. We all have plans for all our tomorrows where we’ll be what we’ll be doing, but things do have a way of not always going according to plan. Take the unfortunate incident of the man who was washed away in the flash floods this week… If something happens and (God forbid) we have to leave this earth unexpectedly if we haven’t specifically chosen the JESUS coach to heaven we will by default be placed on the one way train going in the opposite direction….please don’t let that happen to you!
Eggs? Sunny-side Up Please!
But what about on this earth is there a sunny side to our lives, can we continuously live on the sunny side? Maybe we can liken it to choosing the type of eggs you want at breakfast. You can decide to have the sunny-side up version. So what does the cook do, he/she breaks the egg directly over a generous amount of oil already warming up on the stove. The egg white will of its own accord form a circular shape around the yellow egg yolk, maybe that’s an attempt to protect the egg yolk. Anyway to ensure the yolk is cooked according to taste you can use your spatula, spoon, fork or whatever it is you’re using to cook, to pour bits of oil over the yolk. Some people have been known to turn the whole egg upside down during the cooking process but this is not always advisable as you may not get the desired shinning result, it’s best to have the yolk looking up at all times.
Is There A Sunny-Side To Life?
I guess the same applies to us, for if we desire the enablement to constantly bask in the Sun of righteous then we must look up, beyond the hills that surround Jerusalem; we must take our help from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth (Psalm 121) You may ask what happens when the clouds temporarily cover the sun from view? You got it, it’s momentary! A passing trial that we must go through, a temptation that we must overcome, making us stronger as we walk along this checked pavement of our mortal existence.
The sun never goes away; even at night when we can’t see it it’s still there warming the earth, maintaining life as we know it. The Father God never leaves us nor forsakes us, even when we’re not tuned in and therefore cannot perceive His presence. Think about it, He knows the number of hairs on our heads and not one hair drops without His knowledge. Pretty awesome wouldn’t you say; it’ll probably take us a lifetime just to count the hairs, not to think of knowing how many drop at each point in time.
When the hurts and pains come, when live seems rough, hard and unfair, we need to draw on our inner strength and refuse to be flipped in the frying pan. Surrounding ourselves with the Word of God, having been washed with His blood, allowing the oil of the Holy Spirit to soak through, comforting and strengthening us. We will constantly look up, embracing the sunny-side of life (the Son of God side of life) and we will overcome. So be it for each one of us.
